Respiratory Support Pre-Transport - After Four Hours


Branchodilators may be needed q1h if branchospasm is evident.

If inhalation injury is suspected, or the % BSA burn is large, the receiving hospital may request that the patient be intubated prior to transport. If there is anything to suggest possible inhalation injury, administer high flow oxygen saturation over 92%. Position patients with facial burns with the head of the bed elevated 30 degrees if the patient is not in shock.
