Reconstruction Phase

Surgical Procedures

To optimize patient function and cosmetic reconstructive procedures may be necessary. These are often delayed until scar maturation is complete, however, if a patient has plateaued functionally this may require earlier intervention.

The patient is referred for further Physiotherapy treatment to maintain the range gained by surgery and is seen by the Occupational Therapist for assessment and any necessary alterations of splints and garments.
