Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Support Pre-Transport - After Four Hours

From the onset of injury, it is important to note that movement of the involved joint will not delay or impede healing. The patient will usually hold the injured joints in flexion, however, positioning the limb in extension, abduction and elevation reduces edema and pain.

Splinting may be required to ensure optimal positioning of hands or feet if transport is delayed.
