Elevation - Wound Care Management


Elevation is required for ALL burned areas to decrease tissue edema and patient discomfort. Monitor the distal neurovascular status q1h for first 48 hours. If status is compromised, alert the physician and alter the angle of elevation. Maintain elevation until the wound heals.
